Okonomiyaki

Assalamualaikum.


  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 large egg
  • 150g cabbage (finely sliced)
  • 100g okonomiyaki flour
  • 3 slices of chicken meatloaf ( can be replaced with prawn, crabstick)
  • a handful of dried shrimp
  • 150ml of dashi stock ( can be replaced with water mix with anchovy essence
  • katsuoboshi ( bonito flakes ) *
  • mayonise *
  • okonomiyaki sauce *
*for topping

  1. Mix well all the ingredients except for the topping (*). The batter should be like pancake batter.
  2. Heat oil in a nonstick pan.
  3. Pour the batter into the pan and cook within 8-10 min then flipped over and wait until the other side is cook.
  4. Transfer the okonomiyaki on a large plate.
  5. First, spread the okonomiyaki sauce, then the mayonise.
  6. Lastly, sprinkle the bonito flakes on top of it.

Cream Caramel

Assalamualaikum

Over-beaten cream caramel -.-"

For pudding:
  • 10 eggs ( grade B)
  • 1 can evaporated milk (Ideal)
  • 1 can water ( I used the evaporated milk's can to measure the water)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
For caramel:
  • 5 tablespoon sugar
  • 5 tablespoon water
  1. Mix the ingredients for the pudding in a large bowl. Mix well until the sugar dissolved. Put aside. Don't bit to hard as you will get the result as I am. The pudding should come out looking smooth.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the sugar with the water. Bring them to boil. The caramel is done when the melted sugar is brown. Pour into a cake pan or you can use ramekins.
  3. Pour the pudding mixture into the cake pan.
  4. Place the cake pan into steamer and let it steam for 25 minutes.
  5. When the pudding is done,let it slightly cool.
  6. Fold it over upside down into another plate to serve.
  7. Chill it when it is 100% cool.

Jelly

Assalamualaikum


  • 2 boxes of jelly powder ( brand Nona )
  • 800 ml boiling water
  • evaporated milk

  1. Measured 800 ml of boiling water and pour into a large bowl.
  2. Add in jelly powder into the boiling water.
  3. Stir until well mix.
  4. Pour into a container,let it cool then chill for 2-3 hours or a night.
  5. Scoop into a small bowl then pour in evaporated milk.
  6. Enjoy!

Roasted Chicken Rice

Hi everyone! Sorry for the very late update. Alhamdulillah, I've start my new semester last Monday. I'm a bit busy and very tired because didn't managed to get used yet with the new schedule. So, today I share with you the recipe of roasted chicken rice =)



For roasted chicken:
  • 1 whole chicken (cut into large pieces- drumstick,wings)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger juice (from grated ginger)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper 
  • 1 1/2 liters chicken stalk
For rice:
  • 2 cups rice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • 4 inches ginger
  •  1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 600 ml chicken stalk
  1. Rinse and pat dry the chicken. Combine the ginger juice, soy sauce, honey, salt, pepper then rub this mixture all over the chicken. Set aside for 20-30 minutes to marinate.
  2. Preheat oil in a large wok. Fry the chicken until they cook. Set aside then cut into serving portions.
  3. While the chicken is frying, cook the rice. Rinse and drain the rice. Heat the butter in a rice cooker and stir fry the ginger until golden brown. Add the rice and stir fry until fragrant. Add salt and chicken stalk until boiling. Let the rice cook.
  4. Line the a serving platter with the cucumber arrange and arrange the chicken pieces neatly on top of the rice. Enjoy!

Chicken Chop, Loncong & Asam Gupal

Hi everyone! How was your day? I have uneasy feeling today,sigh.. Maybe because day after tomorrow I'll be back to Melaka. My mental and physical are not fully ready yet :( Tonight, we had chicken chop as our dinner and after that we had 2 desserts,yummmmyy~~ Here's the recipe!

Oriental Sauce

Fried Chicken
French Fries
  • 1 whole chicken ( cut into big pieces- thigh, wing, drumstick)
  • Kentucky flour
  • 5 cloves garlic (sliced)
  • 2 onions (sliced)
  • 1/2 bottle chili sauce
  • 2 cans red beans
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 basils
  • A pinch of salt and pepper
  • French fries ( side dish)
  1. Mix kentucky flour to the chicken. Spread well.
  2. Deep fried the chicken in hot oil using large wok.
  3. Meanwhile, saute garlic and onion until light brown.
  4. Add in chilli sauce, red beans and water.
  5. Add in basils and season with salt and pepper. Wait until it simmering.
  6. Using the same oil that you fried chicken, now deep fried the fries.
  7. Enjoy while still hot!

Famous Amos Cookies

Hi everyone! Sorry sorry sorry for the late update. I'm a busy woman today as I had to do many things just now before I went back to Melaka this Saturday. Huwaaa... My semester break only left 2 days more,haihhhh... Okay, back to our main topic. Have you been craving for Famous Amos cookies but you can't get them on the spot? Okay, I got good news, from now on, you can bake your own - 100% - Famous Amos cookies! These cookies are our-must-cookies every year during Raya celebration. This recipe is so awesome! Try it out ladies!


  • 2 cups unsalted butter
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 5 cups oatmeal ( finely blended)
  • 24 oz chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 18 oz chocolate bar of your favorite ( grated)
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 cups nuts of your choice ( chopped - I used walnut, pecan and chestnut )
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  1. Cream the butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla.
  3. Mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Mix well.
  4. Add grated chocolate, chocolate chips and nuts. Mix well.
  5. Roll into balls and place 2 inches apart on a baking pan.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees C.

Sweet and Sour Lala

Hi! How was your day? Sorry for the late update, hehehe.. Tonight we had sweet and sour lala again but the taste is more spicy than before. But, we ate with fried rice. Lala is our current favorite,hehehe..  Here's the recipe! 



  • 2kg lala
  • 7 cloves garlic 
  • 3 inches ginger 
  • 1/2 bottle of chili sauce
  • 15 chilies padi
  • salt and sugar
  • 1 tablespoon corn flour + water (for thicken)


  1.  Saute garlic, ginger and chilies padi until golden brown.
  2. Pour the chili sauce and corn flour into the pan.
  3. Put salt to taste.
  4. Put the lala and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Serves with  fried rice.

Crispy Waffle

Good morning everyone! I hope its not too late for me to wish you good morning, hehehehe.. Its finally raining after a few days back we had sunny day. Today I had waffle for my breakfast. The ingredients are same with the ingredients that I used for fluffy pancake. You just need to have waffle iron! I like my waffle to be crispy at the edges. Some people like to eat with honey or jam, but I like it to serve with ice cream. So here's the recipe!

  • 1 cup flour ( I use all-purpose flour)
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch soda bicarbonate 
  • A pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk (fresh milk)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  1. Preheat you waffle iron
  2. Mix well the dry ingredients ( flour, baking powder, soda bicarbonate, salt and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Add in egg, milk, vanilla essence and oil.
  4. Whisk the batter until there are no lumps.
  5. Pour the batter in the hot waffle iron. Close the iron and cook till golden brown.
  6. Do not stack as it will make them soggy.
  7. Enjoy the hot waffle with your favorite jam, butter or ice cream!

Chocolate Moist Cake

Hi again! For the past few days, I've been craving for chocolate. I ate everything that have chocolate flavor. So, today I decided to bake chocolate cake. Actually I was thinking to make chocolate lava @ chocolate volcano. Have you heard or try this kind of cake? So delicious, so marvelous, the gooey inside of the cake make me  ahhhh yummyy yummyyy~~ That gooey thing makes me want to bake it. But, when I googled, I have to use ramekins to bake it. Actually, I still can use muffin tins, but I just want to have the perfect gooey chocolate lava. So, I hold on then I made decision to bake chocolate moist cake. So, here's the recipe!



For  cake:
  • 2 cups plain flour (sifted) 
  • 2 cups caster sugar 
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder (sifted)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon baking powder (sifted)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon soda bicarbonate (sifted)
  • 1 cup corn oil
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 3 eggs ( grade B)
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • A pinch of salt
  1. Beat the eggs and caster sugar. 
  2. Add in the butter and salt.
  3. Add in the sifted ingredients, corn oil, evaporated milk and boiling water alternately. Mix the ingredients well.
  4. Grease the round cake pan with butter then pour the mixture into the pan.
  5. Bake it with 180 degree C for 45 minutes.
  6. Allow to cool before you put the topping.
For topping:
  • 1 bar of cooking chocolate
  • 1 small box of whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon of corn oil
  1. With double boiling, melt the chocolate.
  2. Add the whipping cream and corn oil.
  3. Pour on the completely cool cake and smooth using spatula.

French Toast

Hi everyone! I'm sure everybody so proud to Malaysian right? Last night our team won against Garuda team, hehehe.. But, they still have to struggle for the last game. Good luck guys! Back to main topic, today I had french toast for my breakfast. Just a simple dish yet delicious =)



  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup fresh milk
  • 4 slices bread ( cut into half)
  • Butter
  1. Beat eggs and milk together until well mixed.
  2. Dip each side of bread into egg mixture allowing the bread soak the mixture.
  3. Melt butter in a pan.
  4. Fry the dipped bread on medium-heat. Fry them until both side turn to brown.
  5. Serve hot with butter, maple syrup or jam of your choice.

Squid Sambal

Hi everyone! I know right now most of Malaysians are watching football. Yeah, me too. I just want to reduce my nervous so that I update my blog right now, hehehe... So, we had a simple dinner tonight, which is squid sambal as known as sambal sotong. Its so delicious either you eat with white rice or nasi lemak. So, here's the recipe!
  • 200-300g fresh squid
  • 3 cloves shallot (blended)
  • 1 clove garlic (blended)
  • 1/2 inch ginger (blended)
  • 7 dried chilies (blended)
  • 1 teaspoon prawn paste
  • Tamarind juice
  • Salt and sugar to taste
  1. Heat oil in a frying pan and saute the blended ingredients until the paste separated from oil.
  2. Add prawn paste.
  3. Add in squid and stir well until cook.
  4. Add tamarind juice, sugar and salt to taste.
  5. Let it simmer on low heat until the sambal thicken.
Tadaaaaa..!

Omelette

Good day everyone! Today I had a simple breakfast only because I have fever right now, I have no mood to cook anything else. So, I have omelette in my mind. Here's the recipe, try it out!

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 6 button mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 big tomato (you can use cherry tomatoes)
  • Cheddar cheese
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of black pepper
  1. Fry the onions, mushrooms and tomato in a hot pan. Fry until turn light brown. Put aside.
  2. Beat the eggs in a bowl. Add the fried stuff,salt and black pepper into it and mix everything.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of oil into pan. When it's hot, pour the mixture into it. The heat should be very low because we don't want to burn the base.
  4. After a few minutes, add grated cheddar cheese on the half-cook egg mixture.
  5. Fold half of the egg mixture because we want the inside part maintain to be moist.
  6. After a few minutes, it's ready for eat. You can eat with baked beans or chili sauce.

Three-Flavored Fish

Hi everyone! Tonight we had three-flavored fish as our main dishes for dinner. Sorry because I didn't managed to take photos of our own three-flavored fish. The delicious-ness, nice aroma of the fish made me so hungry until I forgot to snap picture,sorry guys! Here's the recipe, you must try it, no regrets! 

  • 1/4 cup tamarind pulp
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro root (chopped, scraped)
  • 2 pinches coarse salt
  • 3 fresh long red chillies ( coarsely chopped)
  • 3 tablespoons garlic (finely chopped)
  • 3 tablespoons shallot (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup palm sugar
  • 6 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 red snapper

  1. Place tamarind in a small bowl. Add the water. Let stand for 10 minutes. Knead tamarind in water to soften. Pass through a small sieve, discarding solids. Measure 1/4 cup liquid, set aside.
  2. Add to a mortar, one at a time, the cilantro root, salt, chopped fresh chilies, garlic, shallots, pounding each ingredients with a pestle until smooth before adding the next ingredient.
  3. In a small saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add the cilantro paste mixture, and fry until fragrant. Stir in palm sugar and remaining 1/4 cup water, simmer until thick. Add reserved tamarind water and 1/4 cup fish sauce. and continue to simmer until reduced and slightly thickened. Remove from heat, set aside.
  4. Place the red snipper in a large work with medium-high heat oil. Fry until crisp. Transfer to a serving platter. Coat the red snipper with the sauce. Serve immediately.

Fluffy Pancake

Good morning gorgeous people! Thank god, today we can see Sun, hehehe... Since this morning, its not raining until now and I'm happy that I can feel warm again. Today, we had pancake for breakfast. Its not just an ordinary pancake, but a very fluffy pancake. So nice, so soft and so delicious. Nyummm~~ I took this recipe from the internet. Enjoy!  

  • 1 cup flour ( I use all-purpose flour)
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch soda bicarbonate 
  • A pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk (fresh milk)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  1. Mix well the dry ingredients ( flour, baking powder, soda bicarbonate, salt and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Add in egg, milk, vanilla essence and oil.
  3. Whisk the batter until there are no lumps.
  4. Do not use oil when you want to fry them. Use non-stick pan.
  5. Pour huge tablespoon and leave for a while until bubbles burst and form tiny holes. Flip over.
  6. Serve pancakes with butter, syrup or blueberry jam.

Curry Chicken Noodle

Wow! Today we had a cold weather. So, we like to have a warm, soupy food for our dinner. Then, I decided to make curry chicken noodle for our dinner. So, I used this recipe. I'm glad that they like my curry chicken noodle, yeay! 


Nyummm Nyumm ~~

  • 1 small onion (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon dark red chili paste
  • 3/4 pound chicken thigh or breast meat (cut into bite-size pieces)
  • 12 fish balls
  • 3 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1 can unsweetened coconut milk
  • 4 cups chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon sugar, more to taste
  • About 12 kaffir lime leaves or curry leaves
  • 2 packets of noodles
  • Salt to taste
  • Kale for dressing
  • Quartered limes for serving
  1. Heat oil in a medium pot over medium heat. Add onion and ginger and cook, stirring, until soften. Do not brown, reduce heat if necessary. Add garlic and chili paste and stir until fragrant. Raise heat, add chicken and stir-fry one minute. Add curry powder and stir to coat. Then add coconut milk, chicken stock, sugar and curry leaves. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until chicken is cooked through, about 7 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, cook noodles in boiling water according to package directions (about 4 minutes). Rinse and drain.
  3. Taste broth and adjust seasonings with salt and sugar. Divide noodles into large soup bowls. Bring broth to a boil, then ladle over noodles and put kale on top of it.

She loves kuih lopes so much. Since I found a place that have the best of kuih lopes in Melaka, so I bought for her every time I went back to hometown.

Kuih Bakar

Good afternoon everyone! My morning today was so cold as in Terengganu we have monsoon season. It has been raining since 2 days ago, its enough to make me have a fever =.= I feel like to bake something that can make us feel warm in this cold weather. So, I decided today, I made Kuih Bakar, our malay traditional dessert. I cook special for my lovely family. This special kuih bakar recipe is from my mum. Enjoy!






  • 7 eggs ( grade B)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups coconut milk (heat until simmering then chill for awhile) 
  • 1 cup pandan juice
  • 2 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoon Ghee
  • sesame (for dressing)
1.     Preheat the oven 180 degree C.
2.     Put the pan with the Ghee in it into the oven.
3.     Mix the eggs with sugar.
4.     Add coconut milk and pandan juice into the mixture. Stir well.
5.     Add flour and salt into the mixture. Mix well.
6.     Pour into the pan and put the sesame on top of the mixture for dressing.
7.  Bake for 45 minutes.

Tadaaa...!
